Lutherstiege (Luther Staircase)
Important information:
"Please greet everyone in my name, whether I return or not." These were the words of Martin Luther before he came to Augsburg for interrogation by Cardinal Cajetan in October 1518. In the historic rooms of the Carmelite monastery of St Anne, where he spent the night, the small museum commemorates this interrogation, Luther's refusal to recant and his subsequent escape in a permanent multimedia exhibition. It also shows aspects of Augsburg's city and church history at the time.
