KirchnerHAUS Museum (Kirchner House Museum)
"The first things I saw in life were moving locomotives and trains; I drew them when I was six years old." Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, founding member of the artists' association "Brücke", is today one of the most important pioneers of modernism. Whether and how his childhood opposite Aschaffenburg railway station influenced his life and work is the subject of a documentation room in the KirchnerHAUS. The renovated birthplace of the artist also regularly hosts temporary exhibitions of works by the expressionist and his artistic environment and provides information on current Kirchner research.
