Jüdisches Museum Franken in Schwabach (Jewish Museum Franconia in Schwabach)
A gem of European Jewish cultural heritage has long been hidden in a former Jewish home in Synagogengasse: during renovation work, a historic arbour with impressive 18th century murals was discovered here. The frescoes depict Moses with the tablets of the law, King David, the sacrifice of Isaac and a hare hunting scene that is unique in Europe. Today, this house is a branch of the Jewish Museum of Franconia. The accompanying exhibition uses audio stations and animated films to explain the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles, the history of the house and the Jewish history of Schwabach, and visitors can also use an app to explore the history of the numerous historic houses in and around Synagogengasse for themselves.
