Ignaz-Günther-Museum (Ignaz Günther Museum)
The sculptor Ignaz Günther (1725-1775), born in Altmannstein, created profane and above all sacred works of European rank. He became famous for the virtuoso design of his figures, to which he lent the most subtle soulful feelings and internalised expression.
The museum rooms are housed in his father's former workshop. The objects come from Ignaz Günther himself as well as from his father Johann Georg Günther and his grandfather Leonhard Günther. Text panels and graphics provide information on the history and significance of the artist family.
