The GEDOK is the largest and most traditional interdisciplinary women artists' organisation in Germany. It was founded in 1926 by Ida Dehmel. As a recognised non-profit organisation, GEDOK has set itself the goal of sustainably promoting the work of talented female artists, facilitating their path into the public eye, fostering links between female artists and art patrons and promoting the equal position of women in the cultural sector with institutional and practical support.
