The Freilichtmuseum Massing (Open Air Museum Massing) is home to old farms from the Rottal, Hallertau and Isar valleys, scattered among hedgerows, fields, meadows and pastures, five farmsteads that contain beautiful and derisive objects from the rural world of Lower Bavaria: painted cupboards and chests, Kröning ceramics, embroidered and turned objects - and many mended work aprons. Tiled stoves and leather-covered canapés stand in the parlours.stately four-sided farms and modest houses of small farmers are there. There is a bowling alley and a washhouse, a grocer's shop overflowing with goods. And the fascination of early technology: tractors, vaulted stables, a ropery with worsted harness and spinning machine. In addition, the collection of the former Berta Hummel Museum is to find space and a public here in a new building.
