Freilandmuseum Oberpfalz (Open Air Museum Upper Palatinate)
Get out into the countryside and experience the history, culture and nature of the Upper Palatinate. After the groundbreaking ceremony in 1980, the museum villages - Stiftland, Oberpfälzer Wald, Oberpfälzer Jura, Mühlental and Nabburger Straße - were built on an area of over 30 hectares. The meanwhile 50 transferred and reconstructed buildings were connected by historic country roads and paths in the style of the 19th century. In addition to the traditional cultivation of the fields, there are all kinds of old domestic animal breeds to discover in the stables and on the pastures, such as geese, sheep, cattle, horses, goats, peacocks, pigs and rabbits.
