A tour of the Franconian Open Air Museum (Franconian Open Air Museum) in Bad Windsheim is like a journey through 700 years of everyday Franconian history: more than 100 buildings, farms, craftsmen's houses, mills, shepherds' huts, breweries, official buildings, schoolhouses and aristocratic palaces, barns, stables, baking and drying huts invite you to take a journey into the past. The houses were moved to the museum from their original locations all over Franconia and are arranged in six groups according to regions and themes. Of particular interest are the "Medieval Building Group" and the "City Building Group" in the middle of the old town of Bad Windsheim with the Museum Kirche in Franconia (Museum Church in Franconia Bad Windsheim), the old building yard and the herbal pharmacy.
