As a relic of the Cold War, the Hainberg barracks, built in 1962 near the inner-German border, is the perfect place to document this era. The former staff building with its original furnishings provides an insight into the former use of the rooms, and the omnipresent threat becomes oppressively clear at the latest when you enter the originally preserved nuclear bunker. The topics of compulsory military service, the inner-German border and the history of the garrison are also inextricably linked to this. The tour ends with a presentation of the current deployment of German soldiers in Afghanistan.
