The museum's very location, the castle gate built in 1489, is a major piece of local history. As a former toll and customs barrier, it marks Oberaudorf's location on the important trade route to Italy and is also a reminder of Auerburg Castle, which was destroyed in 1745. Geology, archaeology, navigation on the Inn, the local mountain riflemen and Oberaudorf's long tradition as a holiday resort are further topics.
