Event: What actually happens in the museum at night?

Friday, 27 November 2026, 20:00 - 21:30

A night-time guided tour of the museum by torchlight for adults (aged 16 and over)

Location: Archäologisches Museum der Stadt Kelheim (Archaeological Museum of the City of Kelheim)

It’s not just children who dream, at least once in their lives, of seeing what happens in a museum at night. Even a Hollywood film has tackled this very question. But what really happens in the museum once the visitors have left and the staff have turned off the lights? On Friday, 27 November, adults will have the chance to find out exactly that. Does the skeleton in the Stone Age display case really turn over every night, or is that just a myth? Armed with torches, visitors will wander through the dark Herzogkasten on this guided tour led by museum director Dr Bernd Sorcan, exploring every nook and cranny for themselves.

Suitable for young people aged 16 and over and adults. Registration is required by Thursday 26 November 2026 on 09441/10492 or at info@archaeologisches-museum-kelheim.de

Contribution towards costs: €5 plus admission €4. Please bring a torch.
