Event: A Journey Through Porcelain: Painting at the Manufactories

Saturday, 12 December 2026, 10:30 - 12:00

Location: Porzellanikon Selb (Porzellanikon Selb)

Experience the art of painting and its highlights!

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of artistic porcelain painting – unique, steeped in tradition and masterfully executed. Discover significant works from renowned manufacturers such as Meissen, Augarten, Sèvres, Nymphenburg, Ludwigsburg, Herend and the Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin (KPM). A particular highlight: the unique designs by Selb-based artist Helmut Drexler. His works combine traditional decorative techniques such as gold, lustre and relief painting with an innovative spirit of experimentation. Drawing on techniques originally used in industrial porcelain production, Drexler transforms them into artistic forms of expression – thereby creating fascinating, one-of-a-kind pieces that captivate the imagination.

Afterwards, enjoy a bite to eat at the museum restaurant “Altes Brennhaus” before heading off to enjoy some shopping at the outlet centres. Show your museum admission ticket and you’ll receive a discount!
