Event: Culture Café: Porcelain and Personalities – Fascinating stories about interesting people – Karen Müller (1939–2022), ceramic artist

Wednesday, 07 October 2026, 14:00 - 15:30

Location: Porzellanikon Hohenberg (State Museum for Porcelain Hohenberg)

Karen Müller (1939–2022) was an internationally renowned German ceramic artist who played a decisive role in shaping German studio ceramics over many decades. She was a truly exceptional artist who received numerous awards both at home and abroad for her works, which were often large-scale yet delicate. Karen Müller is best known for her expressive sculptures and her paper-thin, fragile, free-thrown and often very large bowls. In 2023, the Porzellanikon was able to acquire two works from her estate, made from Karen Müller’s favourite material, ‘Diva porcelain’. You can find out more about these two works and the artist who created them at the Kulturkaffee on 7 October 2026. Afterwards, you’ll have the chance to chat in a relaxed atmosphere over coffee, tea and cake.

Price: €6.00 for the guided tour, coffee and cake, plus museum admission

Booking required at hohenberg@porzellanikon.org or +49 9233 77220
