Event: Holiday programme: Lanterns

Tuesday, 01 September 2026, 10:00 - 12:00

Location: Porzellanikon Selb (Porzellanikon Selb)

We’re getting stuck into pottery at the Porzellanikon! What is porcelain actually made of? What’s the difference between pottery and porcelain-making? Why are plates and cups (almost) always round? Who comes up with these shapes, and what does thirsty gypsum have to do with it? On an interactive tour of the porcelain-making process, we’ll answer all these questions! After the tour, you can have a go at throwing your own mugs and design your very own lanterns. Who’s giving the porcelain makers a run for their money?

Price: €5.00 | ages 6 and over

Book via selb@porzellanikon.org or +49 9287 918000
