The history of the Bavarian Surveying Administration spans from the measuring rod to the antenna. Measuring instruments and accessories from 1801 to the present day form the core of the exhibition. A special gem is the original circular dividing machine by Georg von Reichenbach. The visitor also learns a lot about the importance of measurement and area, about position and height measurement and may also look through a tachymeter himself. A separate room is dedicated to the personalities Soldner, Reichenbach, Fraunhofer, Schiegg, Senefelder and Utzschneider.
