STOA169 Säulenhalle (STOA169 columned hall)
In the middle of the Bavarian Pfaffenwinkel, close to the banks of the Ammer river and not far from the village of Polling, a unique art installation stands on an agricultural meadow: STOA169. This open columned hall is the long-cherished dream of artist Bernd Zimmer, who has been pursuing this idea for over 35 years.
STOA169 is supported by 121 individually designed columns created by renowned artists from all continents. Each column represents the diverse forms of expression of contemporary art and supports the common roof of this extraordinary hall. The result is an impressive archive of modern art that visualises the connection between nature and art in an impressive way.
