In 2026, the KulturLand Ries Museum, in collaboration with the municipality of Maihingen and the Donau-Ries Heathland Alliance, has a special highlight on the programme: the Donau-Ries Sheep Day will take place on 27 September 2026 in and around the museum grounds in Maihingen. Sheep herding and shearing, spinning and processing wool – curious visitors can experience all this first-hand. Hands-on activities, guided tours, arts and crafts, and culinary specialities ranging from sheep’s cheese and lamb to coffee and cake await guests.
