Event: Out and about with Albert Meyer’s descendants

Sunday, 22 November 2026, 14:00 - 15:00

Guided tour

Location: Museum KulturLand Ries (Museum KulturLand Ries)

As part of the programme accompanying the special exhibition “On the Edge of the Crater – Swabian-Franconian Townscapes by Albert Meyer-Gröbenzell”, a special guided tour will take place: Ruth Besimo-Meyer, the artist’s granddaughter, and her husband Christian Besimo have been following in the footsteps of the artist, who made Gröbenzell his home, for many years. They have catalogued his works, made them accessible to the public through exhibitions, and visited and photographed the places where Albert Meyer worked. During the tour, they will talk about their task – which was not always easy – as well as Albert Meyer’s life and work. His parents were originally from Lentersheim, and his third wife was born in Wemding. He therefore visited the region on the crater rim time and again, capturing various locations in his works. The current special exhibition is showing these works for the first time in the border region between Bavarian Swabia and Middle Franconia.

Meeting point: Brauhaus foyer (Klosterhof 8)

Due to the limited number of places, registration is required at mklr@bezirk-schwaben.de or by telephone on 09087 920 717 0.
