Fertilising plants with Mr Worm
Location: Museum der Gartenkultur (Museum of garden culture)
Entry: free
At the Museum of Garden Culture, the garden becomes a space for experiences. Here, children learn how all life is interconnected: from earthworms in the soil to insects in the air and water to the community in the flowerbed. Once a month on a Sunday, the garden explorers invite visitors to an open event, which usually lasts two hours. Here, they can discover, build, research and design – partly as a family activity, partly specifically for children. At the same time, adults have the opportunity to take part in open garden tours. On Sunday, 20 September 2026, young garden explorers can fertilise plants with Mr Worm. This is a hands-on activity for children aged 6 to 12.
We look at what flowers and plants need to grow well. And then we harvest what the worm family has made in the worm box over the summer – worm tea and wonderful garden soil.
