Burial mounds and rulers: The Celts in Franconian Switzerland
Location: Fränkische Schweiz-Museum (Franconian Switzerland Museum)
Entry: free
The Franconian Switzerland Museum is offering a free guided tour on International Museum Day. The guided tour with our museum educator Dr Fabian Wittenborn starts at 2.00 pm.
The guided tour "Barrows and rulers: The Celts in Franconian Switzerland" is all about the Celtic era, which became famous through Asterix and Obelix. It is the time in which we can document the first permanent separation of people into nobility and subjects. The Celtic migration takes the Celts as far as Turkey and Italy. They are about to reach the "stage of an advanced civilisation", but then their culture is crushed by Caesar.
Information: Meeting point is at the museum ticket office. The guided tour is free of charge as part of International Museum Day. The tour is suitable for young and old. Normal museum admission applies. Children up to the age of 18 are free of charge. Pets are not allowed on the museum grounds.
For registration or further information about this event, please contact the organising museums directly.
