Two tours on the occasion of International Museum Day

Location: Herkomer Museum

Entry: free

On this year's International Museum Day on Sunday 17 May, Landsberg's municipal museums are offering two free guided tours.

From 11am-12pm, museum director Sonia Schätz will introduce the museum depot on the site of the former Lechrain barracks.

From 4-5 p.m., a tour will take you through the former home and mother tower of the Herkomer family. The fabulous tower - a total work of art of historicism - and the life and work of the multi-talented Hubert von Herkomer can be discovered in this way. The exhibition traces Herkomer's cosmopolitan life from a poor boy from Waal and emigrant child to a prominent, internationally sought-after portrait painter.

Registrations for all offers are requested by 14 May 12 noon at the latest at

stadtmuseum@landsberg.de or 08191 128360.
