Event: International Museum Day

Sunday, 17 May 2026

with the special exhibition ‘Is that how it goes? Climate in Lower Franconia’

Location: Museum für Franken auf der Festung Marienberg (Museum for Franconia at the Marienberg Fortress)

At the Museum of Franconia, International Museum Day will focus entirely on the exhibition ‘Geht Grad° so? Climate in Lower Franconia’. There will be creative and hands-on workshops and craft stations. Under guidance, participants can make their own thermometer. Making a hygrometer – a device for measuring humidity – is also part of the programme, which is aimed at the whole family. Themed tours introduce young and old alike to the exhibition, which explores what new insights we can gain from humanity’s relationship with the climate in the past to help us deal with current global warming. The exhibition brings this complex topic to life through objects and expert information, as well as numerous experiments, hands-on stations and interactive elements.

The activities on Museum Day are free of charge. No registration is required.
