A flower press for your pocket
Location: Museum der Gartenkultur (Museum of garden culture)
At the Museum of Garden Culture, the garden becomes a space for experiences. Here, children learn how all life is interconnected: from earthworms in the soil to insects in the air and water to the community in the flowerbed. Once a month on a Sunday, the garden explorers invite visitors to an open event, which usually lasts two hours. Here, visitors can discover, build, research and design – some activities are for families, others are specifically for children. At the same time, adults have the opportunity to take part in open garden tours. On Sunday, 16 August 2026, young garden explorers can take part in "A flower press for your pocket", a hands-on activity for children aged 6 to 12.
Everything is blooming so beautifully and colourfully right now. We explore the gardens and pick out the most beautiful flowers. How wonderful would it be if we could take blooming flowers with us into autumn and winter? It's easy with a flower press. Each child builds a flower press and fills it with their favourite flowers.
Participation is free, with a contribution of £5 towards materials. Registration required.
