Event: A sky full of stars | Trimmings and thread buttons with star motifs

14 - 15 November 2026, 14:00 - 17:00

Course

Location: Museum KulturLand Ries (Museum KulturLand Ries)

During the darkest time of the year, the need for light and colour is particularly strong. That is why this course is full of colourful stars: using wooden blanks and aluminium rings, you will create trimmings and thread buttons featuring star motifs using centuries-old craft techniques – winding, weaving and embroidery. These decorative buttons are ideal as fastenings – for example, as a replacement for boring plastic buttons on ready-made clothing – but can also be turned into jewellery or sewn onto hats, caps, bags and other accessories as eye-catching features.

Prior experience in trimmings button-making is an advantage but not a prerequisite for the course.

Registration: by telephone on 09087 / 920 717 0 or by email to mklr@bezirk-schwaben.de

Course leader: Helene Weinold

Course fee: €100.00 plus material costs
