Event: Open Monuments Day

The national Open Monuments Day will take place on Sunday, 13 September 2026, under the theme “NETWORKS: Monuments & Infrastructure”. The focus will be on historic transport routes, buildings and facilities that illustrate past supply chains and mobility.

To mark the occasion, the Grafenwöhr Local History Society invites you to a guided tour of the Annaberg. The tour starts at the Sudhausbrunnen, offering insights into the former crossroads at the foot of the hill and the history of the Löwenbrauerei brewery. Visitors will then be granted access to the otherwise closed Grafenwöhr rock cellars, which were once used for beer storage and later as cool storage rooms for food. To conclude, the tour guides Marianne Gottschalk and Elisabeth Schreml will talk about the history of the castle, which was once intended to watch over the town.

Meeting point: 2 pm at the Sudhausbrunnen; participation is free of charge; no registration required
