Event: Garden explorers

Sunday, 12 July 2026, 14:00 - 16:00

beeswax wraps

Location: Museum der Gartenkultur (Museum of garden culture)

At the Museum of Garden Culture, the garden becomes a space for experiences. Here, children learn how all life is interconnected: from earthworms in the soil to insects in the air and water to the community in the flowerbed. Once a month on a Sunday, the garden explorers invite visitors to an open event, which usually lasts two hours. Here, they discover, build, research and design – partly as a family activity, partly specifically for children. At the same time, adults have the opportunity to take part in open garden tours. On Sunday, 12 July, young garden explorers will be learning about beeswax wraps. A hands-on activity for children aged 6 to 12.

On the topic: Plastic wrap for your lunch? Who needs it? Together, we will look at what bees do besides making honey and then make beeswax wraps – the delicious-smelling alternative to plastic wrap. Participation is free, with a contribution of £5 towards materials. Registration required.
