Matches were produced in Grafenwiesen for over 100 years, and the Allemann match factory was even the most important industrial employer in the region in the 1950s. Today, only the matchstick museum reminds us of the once flourishing trade.

In addition to an extensive collection of matchsticks, the history of production and its close links to neighbouring Bohemia are thematised.

Matchboxes for the wall, table or bag in a variety of shapes and materials are on display, as is the colourful world of matchstick labels.
