Zirkelmuseum (Circle Museum)
Compasses and "drawing instruments" have been manufactured in Wilhelmsdorf and the surrounding area for over 100 years, with great success: in the middle of the 20th century, a good third of global sales came from here, and exports continue to this day. The Zirkelmuseum (Circle Museum) documents this traditional trade and, in addition to a wide variety of compasses from the year 1800 onwards, also shows how they were made, from 19th century craftsmanship to industrial production. A separate room is dedicated to the history of the village, which was founded in 1686 by Huguenot refugees from France and was characterised by trade and industry from the very beginning.
