Walchensee Museum (Lake Walchensee Museum)

Urfeld and the Walchensee are closely linked to the work of the artist Lovis Corinth (1858-1925), who created his famous Walchensee pictures in his house in Urfeld from 1919. More than 300 prints by the important impressionist are gathered in the Walchensee Museum (Walchensee Museum), one of the most important Corinth collections in Germany. But the works of other artists who worked here are also represented here, as are extensive local history collections from the region around Kochelsee and Walchensee, as well as rediscovered items from the families of Richard Wagner, Franz Liszt, Berthold Kellermann and Peter Emil Recher.
