Universitätsmuseum (University Museum)
Raised to university status in 1623, the Altdorfina was one of the most important universities in the German Empire until the middle of the 18th century. The museum near the former university buildings provides information about the history and teaching of the university, but also about the life of the students at that time. The fossil cabinet presents an extensive palaeontological collection, and the Museumshof (Museum yard), the "Doktorsgärtlein", where the former botanical garden of the Altdorfina was replanted on a small scale, invites visitors to relax and study over 300 plant species.
