Tier- und Naturkundemuseum Bruckmühl (Animal and Natural History Museum Bruckmühl)
An extensive collection of taxidermy with over 500 species of mammals and birds awaits the visitor in the zoological museum, a foundation of the local company Salus to the market town of Bruckmühl. The directly adjacent floodplain forest biotope with a "fern path" is a near-natural habitat that allows visitors to observe the local flora and fauna. Numerous picture boards, display cases and video films provide information about ecological networks and bird migration, among other things.
The neighbouring Natural History Museum uses individual representatives to show the animal kingdom hierarchy, from snails and worms to mammals, but also inhabitants of the seashore or the forest. A collection of native and exotic butterflies rounds off the diversity.
