The mill wheel in the coat of arms of the district of Kronach symbolises the abundance of water and timber in the area, and numerous cutting and grinding mills once characterised the river valleys. Only a few have survived, and the Teichmühle mill, which has stood here for 500 years, is one of them. Its mill wheel turns and the 140-year-old full creel is still being sawn. The modest life of the cutter miller is illustrated in the adjoining rooms.
