Tachauer Heimatmuseum (Tachov museum of local history)
Homeland - Expulsion - Integration. These are the three main themes of the Tachauer Heimatmuseum (Tachov museum of local history), which is dedicated to the population of the former district of Tachau-Pfraumberg (now Tachov, southern Egerland): their social, religious and economic circumstances, their material and spiritual culture, and the tour begins with the basics of life, from forestry to the flourishing button industry, and continues with everyday culture and popular piety. But the exchange with other population groups and the effects of major political decisions are also addressed. Two biographies, which are repeatedly encountered in different contexts, personalise the political upheavals and disasters of the first half of the 20th century, which led, among other things, to the expulsion of the German population. Finally, the third major theme is the integration of displaced persons in Bavaria and in the city of Weiden from 1945 onwards.
