Jews have lived in Urspringen since the 16th century, and in the mid-19th century they accounted for 200 people, 20 per cent of the total population. A small Geniza exhibition in the women's gallery of the 19th century synagogue commemorates the life of Urspringen's Jews before National Socialism, but also the fate of those deported in 1942.
