Städtische Galerie (Municipal gallery)
With its exhibitions of modern and contemporary art, the Städtische Galerie (Municipal gallery) Rosenheim is one of the central art institutions in south-east Bavaria. The building, modelled on a Roman villa and opened in 1937, initially serves as a meeting place for the works of artists from the region from the 19th century to the present day. The varied exhibition programme is also dedicated to the international art scene of the 20th and 21st centuries and, in recent years, to picture book illustrators such as Janosch, Helme Heine and Oscar winner Shaun Tan.
