Stadtmuseum Nittenau (Nittenau City Museum)
A huge catfish dominates the room: a full 2.20 m long and weighing 57 kg, one of the largest ever caught in the rain. But fishing is not the only aspect of the Stadtmuseum Nittenau (Nittenau City Museum). There is, for example, the 1000-year history of the town, including a model of the town and a diorama of a battle from the Napoleonic Wars in 1809. Objects of popular piety bear witness to religious life, a cobbler's workshop and a collection of Reichenbach stoneware as well as three Nittenau church clocks bear witness to craftsmanship and industrialisation. Finally, the geological section shows minerals and mineral resources from the region.
