The permanent exhibition "World success sewing machine - from the poor little tailor to the clothing factory" is the centrepiece of the Stadtmuseum Gerolzhofen (City Museum Gerolzhofen). It shows the history of sewing, the development of the sewing machine and its triumphal march around the world to its peak in the middle/end of the 20th century. The first floor houses the 1st Bayerisches Schulmuseum (Bavarian School Museum). A schoolroom like that of a one-class, undivided village school conveys an idea of learning in the countryside at the end of the 19th century. A small presentation of objects and furnishings is dedicated to the writer Ludwig Derleth, born in Gerolzhofen in 1870.
