Stadtmuseum Bad Tölz (City Museum Bad Tölz)
The town museum not only shows the development of the bourgeoisie in Tölz, but also the art and cultural history of the entire Isarwinkel and the cultural heritage of the Leonhardifahrt. Outstanding topics are the raft trade, which took the Isarwinklers as far as the Black Sea, brewing with its once 23 breweries in the town, the Tölzer Kästen, which are well worth seeing, but also entertainment, such as the puppet theatre. The museum's showpiece is the "palanquin of Electress Henriette Adelaide", and the textile collection with traditional costumes, uniforms and bourgeois fashion is also worth seeing. Two house chapels, sacred art and numerous reverse paintings on glass give an idea of the centuries-old ecclesiastical influence of this region. The historical gallery focuses on painters of the "Munich School", while the contemporary gallery brings together arts, crafts, design & classics.
