The Stadtmuseum Aichach (formerly Heimatmuseum) shows a rich cross-section of the art and cultural history of the old ducal town of Aichach and its surroundings. The collection focuses on rural and bourgeois culture, religious sculpture and painting, regional and town history, crafts and trade, the Napoleonic period as well as folk art and traditional costumes. The centrepiece of the exhibition is a unique compilation of quartering slips from the time of the Napoleonic Wars, which former mayor Lorenz Gerhauser assembled into a 15-metre-long collage from the year 1803. Interactive stations invite visitors to participate.
