The Staatsgalerie in der Benedictine Abbey of Ottobeuren (State Gallery in the Benedictine Abbey of Ottobeuren) is located in the historic gallery rooms. On display are paintings from the late Gothic period - mainly altarpieces by Allgäu-Swabian masters - as well as from the Baroque period, almost all of which come from former monastery holdings. Among the Old German works, a painting by the master of the Ottobeuren Marientafel, created around 1450, deserves special mention. The 17th and 18th century paintings include works by Giovanni Battista Pittoni and Johann Georg Bergmüller.
