Born in Höchstadt, Johann Baptist Ritter von Spix explored the flora and fauna of Brazil around 1820. Today, the house where he was born is a museum documenting his research activities in South America. Short films and coloured illustrated books by Spix about the animal world are part of the tour. Especially exciting for children is a jungle diorama with numerous animals and sounds.
