Sisi-Schloss Unterwittelsbach (Sisi Castle Unterwittelsbach)

The permanent exhibition "Sisi - Life, Death & Myth" offers multifaceted insights into Elisabeth's life from childhood to death through a multimedia presentation and explores the question of how the myth of "Sisi" came into being. Visitors experience Sisi's carefree childhood, which was followed by the constraints of the Viennese court. One room is dedicated to Elisabeth's cult of beauty. A "magic mirror" reveals the empress's secrets. All you have to do is touch the brush or the hand mirror on the dressing table. A separate room is also dedicated to the subject of travel. Empress Elisabeth's travels can be retraced at an interactive map table. Finally, the last room is all about her tragic death, which soon made Sisi immortal. In some of the seven rooms, visitors can become active themselves, request information and use audio and scent stations. Replicas of the empress's dresses, skillfully staged, can also be seen.
