The "Seven Swabians" from the story of the same name by the poet Ludwig Auerbacher (1784-1847) usually come across as rather clumsy. However, the people of Türkheim didn't take offence and even dedicated a museum to their town's famous son. The local history collection also displays prehistoric and early historical artefacts, objects relating to local history, crafts and rural customs, church art, traditional costumes, furniture, Swabian maps and original drawings and prints by the Baroque painter Johann Georg Bergmüller (1688-1762), who was also born in Türkheim.
