What did a cheat sheet look like before 1900? Why did children manage a complicated maths problem without a calculator in the past? What do school essays or diaries tell us about everyday life during the war - be it in 1914 or 1944? And how do I solve this maths puzzle here, with the Egyptian pyramids? The School Museum addresses these and many other questions in its permanent exhibition, in its historical classroom, but also in the museum's two open learning workshops for pupils. Here you can learn about historical topics from the perspective of contemporary children and young people using originals. Mathsland" gives children up to grade 2 primary school a playful approach to the world of mathematics. The learning workshop was developed by the School Museum and is run in cooperation with the Museum of Industrial Culture. Finally, a walk through the reconstructed historical rooms of the adjacent Museum of Industrial Culture allows visitors to deepen their understanding of the living conditions of schoolchildren in earlier times.
