The fact that "Schmai", as it is called here in the Bavarian Forest, is not a purely Bavarian speciality is demonstrated by the world's first snuff museum with its collection of 1,500 containers, from the "Schmaiglasl" from the forest to elegant Chinese tins and African prise containers made of buffalo horn. Here the visitor learns a lot of interesting facts about the centuries-old worldwide culture of snuff and can also marvel at the largest snuff jar in the world, weighing approx. 32 kg.
