Schloss Seehof mit Ferdinand-Tietz-Museum (Seehof Castle with Ferdinand Tietz Museum)
Seehof Palace was built from 1686 as the summer residence of the Bamberg prince-bishops according to plans by Antonio Petrini. Nine showrooms of the prince bishops' flat are open to visitors, including the "White Hall" from 1750 with the virtuoso ceiling painting by Giuseppe Appiani. The former splendour of the castle's rococo garden can be glimpsed in the lavishly restored cascade created in 1772 and two monumental groups of figures. A few preserved sandstone figures bear witness to the decoration created by Ferdinand Tietz (1708-1770) and his workshop, originally comprising more than 400 sculptures. Further parts of the sculptural decoration of the garden can be seen in the Ferdinand Tietz Museum in the western orangery.
