Archäologie-Museum auf Schloss Neuburg (Archaeology Museum at Neuburg Castle)
Visitors to the Archaeology Museum in Neuburg Castle can get an overview of the geological development and the millennia of human culture in the former Palatinate-Neuburg areas. Fossil finds document a long extinct animal and plant world. Significant for the beginnings of human life in southern Germany are the Palaeolithic finds from Mauern and from the Speckberg near Nassenfels. Dioramas bring the world of Ice Age man to life, along with grave and settlement finds from the Neolithic and the prehistoric metal ages. The stone monuments from the Roman period deserve special attention. Finds from row graves of the early Middle Ages and medieval ground finds from the old town of Neuburg form the conclusion of the exhibition.
