Römisches Badegebäude der Villa Rustica Peiting (Roman bath building of the Villa Rustica Peiting)

The "Peitinger Liebeszauber", an inscription on a small lead tablet, has unfortunately not yet been fully deciphered. The site where it was found, however, has: it is the remains of a Roman villa rustica from the 2nd to the 4th century AD. Its former size (2.5 hectares of built-up area), representative building elements and the hypocaust heating system suggest a country residence for members of the ruling class from the provincial capital of Augsburg.
The remains of the villa's bathing building can be seen under an all-round glazed shelter. A Roman kitchen and medicinal herb garden has been laid out around the shelter.
