The Residenzschloss Oettingen (Oettingen Residence Palace) was built between 1679 and 1687 for the noble family of Oettingen-Spielberg. The former living quarters of the princely family as well as representative rooms with richly ornamented cabinets can be visited. The early Baroque ceiling stucco in the ballroom is a masterpiece by Mathias Schmuzer from Wessobrunn.
