Important information:
Contemporary art is a top priority at Munich City Hall. Exhibitions of important artists from the city are shown in the former cashier's hall. Since 1979, art has been on display where the city's cashier's office used to be located and where counter transactions were processed. The 650 square metre pillared hall under an eight metre high glass dome provides a characterful setting for contemporary art, mainly from the region. Both solo and themed exhibitions are shown here, reflecting the diversity and significance of Munich's artistic output.
